We are excited to announce a special online edition of Vibra, which will take place from the 15th to the 29th August 2020. The entire program is free of charge and aimed at professional and semi-professional dance makers as well as dance lovers. It features online workshops, lectures, choreographic and video labs, production of a dance video, and presentations of short dance videos. The workshops and lectures are led by internationally renowned artists.
For 7 consecutive years, the festival’s program was based on the immediate interaction between the established dance makers, the young generations of emerging dance artists, and the public. The measures taken against Covid-19, including restrictions in social distancing and international mobility, have prevented us from organizing the festival as planned. Despite the limitations, we believe that it is crucial to find alternative ways to enable the flow of creative processes and to continue the dialogue between artists.
Adapted to an online free-of-charge format, the 8th edition of Vibra is accessible to a large group of dance makers. This special edition is designed to support creative and educational processes, enhance the visibility of younger generations of dance artists, and promote contemporary dance in the current public health crisis.
There is no replacement for the live experience of performing arts, its atmosphere and direct impact. But as we await direct contacts and exchanges to be possible again, we propose possible new ways to keep nourishing our processes and keep the creative dialogues alive.
Let’s keep connected!
